2014 May 21 - Morning Manna

Be not hasty in thy spirit to be angry: for anger resteth in the bosom of fools.   (Ecclesiastes 7:9)

Today's Morsel: What would you say if someone told you when you get angry that you don't believe in God?  Would that make you upset?  Solomon wrote, "For anger resteth in the bosom of fools."  And the psalmist wrote, "The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God" (Psalms 14:1).  Maybe now we can understand the apostle Paul's warning and reasoning to us to not be angry when he wrote, "Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: Neither give place to the devil"(Ephesians 4:26-27).  Basically what they are saying is that fools get angry.  So the next time your outward man gets hot to 210 degrees, walk away, because at 212 degrees, you are going to boil over and do something foolish.  And God isn't in that mess.

Sing:  Victory! Victory! Shall be mine; Victory! Victory! Shall be mine.  If I hold my peace, let the Lord fight my battles; Victory, victory shall be mine.
