2014 April 29 - Morning Manna

" For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God" (Colossians 1:9-10)

Today's Morsel: One of the things I've learned is that if a person doesn't have a desire to learn or change, they will not learn nor change.  We hear today's scripture passage often in the church.  As a matter of fact, it is the overall church purpose for the church that I pastor.  But because some people do not have a desire to learn and change, nothing changes.   If we are told that we are new creatures, should not there be a change?  If we had a desire to get baptized in Jesus name, seek God for the Holy Ghost, what we call being born again, didn't we tell God that we wanted to change?  If you look in the mirror, what do you see? Do you still see the same old man, or do you see the new man which is created after Christ Jesus?  Anger, jealousy, envy, drunkenness, lust, greed, filthy communications from your mouth, backstabbing, and gossip should all be gone.  You must now see yourself as changed and having a desire to learn and grow in the things of God.  Always remember, if you don't have a desire to be filled with the knowledge and things of God, you won't be.

Sing: He's changing me, my Blessed Savior, I'm not the same person that I used to be.  Well it's been slow going, but there's a knowing, that someday perfect I will be.
