2014 April 2 - Morning Manna

"And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, and bid them that they make them fringes in the borders of their garments throughout their generations, and that they put upon the fringe of the borders a ribband of blue: And it shall be unto you for a fringe, that ye may look upon it, and remember all the commandments of the LORD, and do them; and that ye seek not after your own heart and your own eyes, after which ye use to go a whoring: That ye may remember, and do all my commandments, and be holy unto your God. I am the LORD your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: I am the LORD your God. "(Numbers 15:37-41)

Today's Morsel:  When God calls us out of the world, He doesn't want us to ever forget.   Like the children of Israel, we should remember everything that the Lord has done for us.  We must remember that we are a peculiar treasure to Him.  The children of Israel were to put a blue fringe in the border of their garments to remind them of God's commands.  Since you have been born again, when you look at your attire, the garments you wear, your dress and appearance, does it remind you of God's commandments and covenant with you?  God wants his people to be distinct from this world.  And your dress and appearance says a lot about whether you have truly came out of the world or not, and if you are really walking with God each day.  Paul told the church at Corinth, "And even things without life giving sound, whether pipe or harp, except they give a distinction in the sounds, how shall it be known what is piped or harped? For if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself to the battle?" (1 Corinthians 14:7-8)  I pray that you aren't sending out the wrong signal.  Because if you are, someone else may get killed.  Your garments are a reminder that you are to be holy unto the Lord.  Always remember, "Holiness is not what you wear, holiness is who you are.  And who you are, is what you will wear."

Sing:  The windows of  heaven are open, God's power is falling tonight, there's joy, joy, joy in my heart since Jesus made everything right. I gave Him my old tattered garments, He gave me a robe of pure while, I'm feasting on manna from heaven, and that's why I'm happy tonight.
