2011 July 12 - Morning Manna

The preacher sought to find out acceptable words: and that which was written was upright, even words of truth. The words of the wise are as goads, and as nails fastened by the masters of assemblies, which are given from one shepherd. And further, by these, my son, be admonished: of making many books there is no end; and much study is a weariness of the flesh. Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil. (Ecclesiastes 12:10-14)

Today's Morsel:  I've heard people say when they have read certain books or watched certain movies, "I knew how the end would turn out after a few chapters or  a few minutes into it."  Some people seem to have that insight and are able to pick-up on such things.  Some authors will leave you hanging so they can publish a sequel to the first book.  Either way, we want to know the end.  Many people read the book of Revelations first in the Bible because they want to know the end.  And when they read it, they are confused because they have no understanding as to what John is referring to in his writings.  Solomon said that we should get wisdom and with all our getting get and understanding (Proverbs 4:7).  He said that he sought to find out acceptable words: and that which was written was upright, even words of truth.  He said that the words of the wise are as goads, and as nails fastened by the masters of assemblies, which are given from one shepherd.  He said the words of the wise will prick you or cause you to go in the right direction like a herder prodding his cattle.  He said they come from one shepherd.  The gift of the spirit is the word of wisdom.  And so he concludes by saying, "And further, by these, my son, be admonished: of making many books there is no end; and much study is a weariness of the flesh.  Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil."  When we reverence God and do the things He asks of us, we'll see that the end will work out for us and we will reign with Him forever!

Sing:  I'll say yes, Lord yes, to your will and to your way, I'll say yes, Lord, yes, I will trust you and obey, when your spirit speaks to me, with my whole heart I'll agree, and my answer will be yes, Lord, yes!
