2011 March 19 - Morning Manna

"And Joseph knew his brethren, but they knew not him. And Joseph remembered the dreams which he dreamed of them, and said unto them, Ye are spies; to see the nakedness of the land ye are come. And they said unto him, Nay, my lord, but to buy food are thy servants come. We are all one man's sons; we are true men, thy servants are no spies. And he said unto them, Nay, but to see the nakedness of the land ye are come. And they said, Thy servants are twelve brethren, the sons of one man in the land of Canaan; and, behold, the youngest is this day with our father, and one is not. And Joseph said unto them, That is it that I spake unto you, saying, Ye are spies: Hereby ye shall be proved: By the life of Pharaoh ye shall not go forth hence, except your youngest brother come hither. Send one of you, and let him fetch your brother, and ye shall be kept in prison, that your words may be proved, whether there be any truth in you: or else by the life of Pharaoh surely ye are spies. And he put them all together into ward three days. And Joseph said unto them the third day, This do, and live; for I fear God: If ye be true men, let one of your brethren be bound in the house of your prison: go ye, carry corn for the famine of your houses: But bring your youngest brother unto me; so shall your words be verified, and ye shall not die. And they did so" (Genesis 42:8-20)

Today's Morsel:  I'm sure you've heard the acronym "TMI" which stands for "Too Much Information;" meaning you are providing too much information to someone else and telling them things that they did not ask you for or things they don't want to know about.  Why do we think we have to tell everything we know.  Scripture tells us. "Be not rash with thy mouth, and let not thine heart be hasty to utter any thing before God: for God is in heaven, and thou upon earth: therefore let thy words be few" (Ecclesiastes 5:2).  Divulging of too much information about our situations and circumstances can play into the hand of the enemy of our soul.  Satan can hear our voice, but he cannot read our minds.  Some of the people you provide information to about your situatiuon, may have loose lips, and loose lips sink ships.  When Joseph accused his brothers of being spies, scripture says "And they said unto him, Nay, my lord, but to buy food are thy servants come. We are all one man's sons; we are true men, thy servants are no spies. And he said unto them, Nay, but to see the nakedness of the land ye are come. And they said, Thy servants are twelve brethren, the sons of one man in the land of Canaan; and, behold, the youngest is this day with our father, and one is not."  They told him that they had a father, a brother still home with their father, and a brother missing, and even how many of them there were in their family.  Joseph just accused them of spying, and they gave him more information than was needed and it worked against them.  Part of interrogation is to get you to tell things about you and others.  Joseph's brother were afraid of losing their lives and so they tried to make it easy on themselves by providing information.  We need to learn to keep information about us and our situation to ourselves, and just let God work it out for us.  If we are faithful to Him, He'll bring us through, and we don't need to tell everything we know to try and make it easy on ourselves.

Sing:  I know the Lord will make a way for me. I know the Lord will make a way for me.  If I live a holy life, shun the wrong and do the right, I know the Lord will make a way for me.
