2011 March 18 - Morning Manna

"And it came to pass the third day, which was Pharaoh's birthday, that he made a feast unto all his servants: and he lifted up the head of the chief butler and of the chief baker among his servants. And he restored the chief butler unto his butlership again; and he gave the cup into Pharaoh's hand: But he hanged the chief baker: as Joseph had interpreted to them. Yet did not the chief butler remember Joseph, but forgat him" (Genesis 40:20-23)

Today's Morsel:  How did you get to where you are today?  Do you know who helped you achieve success or placed you on the road to success.  Just who were the mentors that helped you?  I had many people who helped me, and I try not to forget them, calling them whenever I can, or even talking about them to others, sharing how they helped me.  But too often we forget people that help us.  There are no thank you notes sent or phone calls to say thanks for helping.  When Jesus healed the 10 lepers, scripture says, "And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God, And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan. And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine? There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger. And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole"(Luke 17:15-19).  Jesus wanted to know where the others were.  They quickly forgot what He had done for them.  The butler forgot all about Joseph being in prison after Joseph had interpret his dream for him.  Joseph had told him, "Don't forget me."  But it was two years later before he remembered him.  Why do we forget so soon what others do for us?  Many today have forgotten all about Calvary.  They have forgotten that Jesus gave His life so they could live.  They persecute the church and go against everything that Jesus said.  The Apostle Paul said, "Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen" (Romans 1:21-25).  Whatever you do, don't forget God, because without Him you can do nothing.

Sing:  Thank you, Lord, for saving my soul.  Thank you, Lord, for making me whole.  Thank you, Lord, for giving to me, Thy great salvation, so rich and free.
