There Is Nobody Like Jesus
“And the same day, when the even was come, he saith unto them, Let us pass over unto the other side. And when they had sent away the multitude, they took him even as he was in the ship. And there were also with him other little ships. And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full. And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish? And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith? And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?” (Mark 4:35-41)
Today’s Morsel: There were many in Jesus’ day upon the earth that questioned as to who He was when they saw the miracles, heard His teachings, and His rebuke of the Pharisee’s Sadducee’s and Scribe’s which He did. Many of them questioned as to who He was when they saw that He was not afraid of what people thought of Him, or His willingness to go against the status quo. Even His disciples, whom He had chosen, had doubt in their minds about Him. Philip and Thomas, after being with Him for three years, did not recognize Him as the Father (John 14:7-10); And the disciples even questioned who He was after He commanded the wind and waves to be still. They asked, what manner of man is this. The men on the road to Emmus didn’t recognize Him. But He was the one whom Paul said, “Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.” (Colossians 1:15-17) Jesus was more than a man. Paul said, “For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:” (Colossians 2:9-10) Let me encourage you today, you will never recognize Jesus by human eyes. You can only recognize Him by eyes of faith.
Sing: He’s Jehovah God, the coming King of glory; He’s the true Nissi, the Lord of grace and favor, He is Jesus Christ, Redeemer Friend and Savior, He’s the great, He’s the great I AM!
He’s the great I Am, the everlasting Father, He’s the Prince of Peace, the great eternal Wonder, Holy Counselor, and Zion righteous Governor, He’s the great, He’s the great I Am.
Thought For Today: “Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me. I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour.” (Isaiah 43:10-11)
