Sing Praises
“And Hezekiah commanded to offer the burnt offering upon the altar. And
when the burnt offering began, the song of the LORD began also with the trumpets, and with the instruments ordained by David king of Israel. And all the
congregation worshipped, and the singers sang, and the trumpeters sounded: and all this continued
until the burnt offering was finished. And when they had made an end of
offering, the king and all that were present with him bowed themselves, and
worshipped. Moreover Hezekiah the king and the princes commanded the Levites to
sing praise unto the LORD with the words of David, and of Asaph the seer. And
they sang praises with gladness, and they bowed their heads and worshipped.” (2 Chronicles 29:27-30)
Today’s Morsel: We see in scripture
that when God gave Moses the Law, He commanded Him to teach it to the people.
When I was in the military, I knew that if something was a command I better
execute it or suffer the consequences. Jesus is our Commander in Chief and
there are many things that He has commanded us to do. And the quicker we figure
them out and do them, the quicker we become faithful soldiers. The Bible says,
“Where the word of a king is, there is power:
and who may say unto him, What doest thou?” (Ecclesiastes 8:4) When King Hezekiah commanded the Levites to sing praise unto the LORD with the words of
David, and of Asaph the seer. And they sang praises with gladness, and they
bowed their heads and worshiped. They did it with gladness. When your
pastor says "Let’s praise the Lord", Do you do it with gladness or do
you just sit there and not move? You know praise and worship say a whole
lot about who you are as a Christian. Let everything that hath breath praise
the Lord. Praise ye the Lord.
Sing: I’m gonna praise the Lord any way that I
can. I’m gonna praise the Lord any way that I can. Praise Him in the morning,
praise Him all day long. I’m gonna praise the Lord any way that I can.
Thought For Today: Let everything that
hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord.
