Morning Manna by Rufus Parker - 22 January 2022

 Where Does Your Loyalty Lie?

No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.(Matthew 6:24)

Today’s Morsel:  I was listening to a Christian radio broadcast a few weeks ago, and the announcer stated that many people had left the church during Covid and had yet to return.  He stated that many pastors had said that many who had called the church their home church and stated that they had a strong relationship with Jesus had yet to return.  I thought to myself this was not surprising since Paul said that in the last days there would be a great falling away (2 Thessalonians 2:3).  And even other scriptures inform us that, “Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.(Luke 21:26); and, “ For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.(2 Timothy 4:3-4)  One of the things you are going to find out about serving Jesus is that sooner or later He is going to test your loyalty.  Jesus is going to put you in a situation where you are going to have to decide if you are really true to Him.  As He said already that you cannot serve two masters.  Either Jesus is going to be your Lord or He isn’t.  Either He is going to be your God or He isn’t.  As He said, “And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?(Luke 6:46)  Are you ready for the test? Prepare your heart now so you pass when the test is given.

Sing:  I love Him too much too fail Him now; too much to break my vow.  For I promised the Lord that I would make it somehow, and now I love him too much to fail Him now.

Thought For Today: Loyalty … True faithfulness.
