Election Day
“Now therefore fear the LORD, and serve him in sincerity and in truth:
and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the flood,
and in Egypt; and serve ye the LORD. And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom
ye will serve; whether the
gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the
gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we
will serve the LORD.” (Joshua 24:14-15)
Today’s Morsel: Here in
America, today we will vote to retain our current president or elect a new
one. I pray that every one that is eligible will vote as it is one of our
rights. When we look at scripture, we see that the election of men to
rule and to lead others has its roots back a long time ago. When Joshua
was elected by God to lead His people into the Promised Land after the death of
Moses. Joshua now found himself at the same crossroad of old age and
death, and he wanted to remind the children of Israel what God had done
for them and that they should serve Him and allow Him to lead them. He
told them, if you are not satisfied with the God that has brought you out,
fought for you, provided for you, and protected you, then choose who you want
to lead you. Whether the gods which their fathers had served that were on the other side of the flood or the gods of
the Amorites, in whose land they now dwelt.
But Joshua told them that as for him and his house, they
were going to serve the LORD. (my Wording) Joshua said, but
as for me and my family, we are sticking with Lord. Always know who is
for you and who is against you before you cast your vote for them to lead you.
Sing: Jesus be the Lord of all.
Jesus be the Lord of all. Jesus be the Lord of all, the kingdoms of my
heart!
Thought For Today: Make sure you
vote JESUS today!
