Morning Manna by Rufus Parker - 24 January 2020

Who’s Building Your House

Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.(Psalms 127:1)

Today’s Morsel: A few years ago I had an opportunity to participate in the Church In A Day program. In other words, we built a church in one day.  We raised a building from nothing to a complete church with everything in it for service.  I was totally surprised when it was finished.  Many people came together to make it happen.  Who is building your house?  Solomon said, "Except the LORD build the house, they labor in vain that build it."  If the Lord does not give success, it will all be in vain; the building will fall or be consumed before it is finished.  Writing to the Hebrews Paul stated, “Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus; Who was faithful to him that appointed him, as also Moses was faithful in all his house. For this man was counted worthy of more glory than Moses, inasmuch as he who hath builded the house hath more honour than the house. For every house is builded by some man; but he that built all things is God. And Moses verily was faithful in all his house, as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were to be spoken after; But Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end.” (Hebrews 3:1-6)  Who is building you?  I pray it is Jesus.

Sing:  It’s the old ship of Zion, it’s the hope for the lost and the dying.  It’s a soul-saving station, it’s the tower of salvation.  Well, it’s the church triumphant, O’ Lord and it’s built by the hand of the Lord.
I’m talking about the church in the book of Revelation, it’s built on the Rock, it’s got a firm foundation.  It’s been through the flood and it’s been through the fire, but one of these days the church is going to move up higher.  It’s the church triumphant, O Lord and it’s built by the hand of the Lord.

Thought For Today: “He that built all things is God.”
