“Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other. Truth shall spring out of the earth; and righteousness shall look down from heaven” (Psalms 85:10-11)
Today’s Morsel: "The story is told of a little girl, who asked her parents to read her a story from the Bible. The parents said, Okay, let’s go get the Bible. The little girl said, Let’s read Grandpa’s Bible. The parents said to her, Why do you want to read Grandpa’s Bible and not our own? The little girl said Because Grandpa’s Bible is more interesting them ours? The parents said, Why do you say that? It’s all the same Word of God. The little girl said, I don’t think so. We never read our Bible and Grandpa is always reading his. So his must have more interesting stuff in it than ours” (humor). The psalmist said that truth shall spring out of the earth! “For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope” Paul said (Romans 15:4). If you want a well feed soul, then read your Bible.
Sing: Tell me the story of Jesus, write on my heart every word. Tell me the story most precious, sweetest that ever was heard. Tell how the angels in chorus, sang as they welcomed His birth, Glory to God in the highest! Peace and good tiding to earth.
Thought For Today: A well-read Bible is a well-fed soul.
Truly said! Hubby and I too are in the mode if scripture reading to feed our souls.
