Morning Manna by Rufus Parker - 2017 December 2

“Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made” (Genesis 2:1-3).

Today’s Morsel:  What day is your Sabbath?  What day do you rest? Our bodies need to be refreshed and replenished from our day to day activities and work that we do.  If we do not rest, we will come apart and not be able to be effective for the Kingdom.  Daniel said in Daniel 7:25, “And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.”  Satan knows that God desires for you to rest and be refreshed.  So Satan does things to wear you out.  I have concluded that the jobs and the things we do aren't as taxing as we think they are, it is just the fact that we don’t take any time for rest.  Because of this, we see our jobs and everything we do as over taxing and as burdensome.  For starters, if we would begin our day with a fresh dose of the Holy Ghost, which is the rest and the refreshing (Isaiah 28:11-12), we could continue in His strength and power.

Sing: They that wait upon the Lord, shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings as eagles.  They shall run and not grow weary, they shall walk and not faint, teach me, Lord, teach me, Lord, to wait.

Thought For Today: Rest!
