“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints” (Ephesians 6:10-18).
Today’s Morsel: There seems to be a lot of evil in the world today. But this should not be a surprise to the Christian. Jesus told us that we would be hated of all men for His name sake (Matthew 10:22); the angel told Hagar that her son (Ismael) would be a wild man and his hand would be against every man, and every man’s hand would be against him… (Genesis 16:12); and Paul told Timothy, “evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived” (2 Timothy 3:13); and, “that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith” (2 Timothy 3:1-8). So really, what we are seeing taking place in the world is the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life. We are seeing the world, Satan’s domain, in operation. Don’t be surprised at what you are see taking place around you. Just keep on the whole armor of God, so that you can stand in these evil days.
Sing: Jesus, hold my hand, Lord, I need Thee every hour; through this pilgrim land, protect me by Thou saving power; hear my feeble plea, O’ Lord, look down on me. When I kneel in prayer I know You’ll meet me there, blessed Jesus hold my hand.
