“And the LORD said unto Moses, Write this for a memorial in a book, and rehearse it in the ears of Joshua: for I will utterly put out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven. And Moses built an altar, and called the name of it Jehovahnissi” (Exodus 17:14-15).
Today’s Morsel: I like reading and studying history. History is a recording of activities that have occurred over-time. History must be passed to the next generations. Generals read past wars to develop battle and strategic plans. This is one of the reasons that I feel every Christian needs to read their Bibles through each year as it is a study of history. One of the most important books in the Bible, that displays and shows history, is the book of Acts. It shows how the New Testament Church was established and what we must continue to do to ensure that we are following the pattern that was originally established. Moses was to write in a book the memorial for Joshua and to rehearse it before him. I believe that God wanted Joshua to remember his first victory and to know that just as God was with Moses, He would be with Joshua and would fight for Him. You miss out on a lot of direction and assurance from God if you don't know the history!
Sing: Victory ahead! Victory ahead! Through the blood of Jesus, victory ahead. Trusting in the Lord, I hear the conqueror's tread, by faith I see the victory ahead.
Thought For Today: His banner over me is love.
The banner of God is with us to bring all of the enemy's plans to nought! Adversity: be transformed into the foundational building blocks of God's will.
