Morning Manna by Rufus Parker - 2017 February 22

“And thou shalt command the children of Israel, that they bring thee pure oil olive beaten for the light, to cause the lamp to burn always. In the tabernacle of the congregation without the vail, which is before the testimony, Aaron and his sons shall order it from evening to morning before the LORD: it shall be a statute for ever unto their generations on the behalf of the children of Israel” (Exodus 27:20-21).

Today’s Morsel: One of the things that the Lord required of the children of Israel was that they bring beaten pure olive oil for the lights to the temple each day.  God was very detailed in the requirements of how and where it was to be gathered.  God wanted the people to get into the habit of providing those things that the church had need of.  It was to be the best and the first.  It was an offering for the light.  God is the light.  The offering of the oil was a portrait of Himself.  Isaiah said, “Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand” (Isaiah 53:10).  We are the temple of God (1 Corinthians 3:16), and the light of the world (Matthew 5:14).  Therefore, God has not changed His requirement with us.  We must bring to Him our best and the first, and we must bring it daily before Him.

Sing: Anointing fall on me.  Anointing fall on me. Let the power of the Holy Ghost, fall on me; anointing fall on me.

Thought For Today: Always give God your best.

  1. I will love Him with all of my heart, soul, mind, and strength. I will seek Him first, and His righteousness. I will not rob Him in tithes and offerings.

    I love you, Jesus!
