Morning Manna by Rufus Parker - 2017 February 24

“But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day” (Proverbs 4:18).

Today’s Morsel:  I was playing a game with my youngest grandson one evening, and to my surprise, when I looked over at him, he had his hand on his chin the same as I did and was saying the same words that I was saying when I would jokingly cast the die during the game.  Solomon says that the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.  The path of the wicked is gloomy, dark, and dangerous; that of the righteous is open, luminous, and instructive.  Therefore, the path that the righteous blazes that is found in righteousness will not only save himself, but those who also follow him.  As Paul told Timothy, “Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee” (1 Timothy 4:16).  What trail are you blazing for others?  Take care, because others are watching and following!

Sing: 1. Unto thee, O LORD, do I lift up my soul; Unto thee, O LORD, do I lift up my soul.  O my God, I trust in thee: Let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me.
        2. Let none that wait, on thee be ashamed;  Let none that wait, on thee be ashamed.  O my God, I trust in thee: Let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me.
        3.  Shew me thy ways, LORD; teach me thy paths; Shew me thy ways, LORD; teach me thy paths.  O my God, I trust in thee: Let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me.

Thought For Today: Stay on course until the end.
