Morning Manna by Rufus Parker - 2017 February 21

“Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you”
(John 15:16)

Today’s Morsel:  Do you remember the children’s Saturday morning educational program, “School House Rock?”   They would always ask the conjunction what their function was.  Do you ever stop and reflect on where Jesus has brought you from?  Do you ever ask yourself out of all the people in the world, why did Jesus choose you? We did not choose Him, He chose us.  The same way that He chose His apostles.  The same way that He chose Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, David, Samuel, and the apostle Paul, He chose you and me.  When God chooses us, I believe, it is for a special purpose.  As He told Moses, “See, I have called by name Bezaleel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah: And I have filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, and in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship, To devise cunning works, to work in gold, and in silver, and in brass, And in cutting of stones, to set them, and in carving of timber, to work in all manner of workmanship. And I, behold, I have given with him Aholiab, the son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan: and in the hearts of all that are wise hearted I have put wisdom, that they may make all that I have commanded thee” (Exodus 31:2-6).  So, just what is your function for which He has chosen you?  Ask Him, He will let you know.

Sing: He chose me! He chose me!  Out of all the people in this world.  He chose me!  He chose me, and He can use me, till He uses me up.

Thought For Today:  What’s your function?

  1. "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him." -James 1:5

    Lord, please give me wisdom.

"From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love." -Ephesians 4:16

Lord, I pray to know my function, and to know Your will for my life (not my own!). Let Your virtue, favor, and anointing operate in my life, through my unique function, to bring You honor.

    Amen.
