“But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness”

Today’s Morsel: The New Birth Experience is designed to give everyone a clean slate. No matter who you are or what you have done, you can start afresh and anew in Christ. When they asked Peter on the Day of Pentecost what they should do, Peter said unto them, “Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call” (Acts 2:38-39). What Peter was saying to them was, Yes you did wrong, but God is willing to give you a clean slate. Paul said that he was a persecutor the church, but Jesus gave him a clean slate and a fresh start when he came to an understanding as to who Christ Jesus was (1 Timothy 1:12-14). Do you need a fresh start or a clean slate today? Well, John says, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” Friend, there is nothing like having a fresh start with Jesus, knowing that all your sins have been taken away. He makes all things new (Revelations 21:5).
Sing: The load of sin was more than I could bear, He took them all away, He took them all away; and now on Him I roll my every care, He took my sins away.
He took my sins away, He took my sins away, and keeps me singing every day! I’m so glad He took my sins away, He took my sins away.
Thought For Today: You can have a clean slate in Jesus! (Parker)
