In Judah is God known: his name is great in Israel.

(Psalms 76:1)
Today's Morsel: When we look at the lineage line of Jesus birth, we see that it is through the line of Judah. Most Christians understand that Judah means praise. So when the psalmist says, "In Judah is God known," he is saying that through the bloodline of Judah, through the bloodline of praise, will God be made known in Israel, the people of God, the church. As Jacob told his son Judah, "Judah, thou art he whom thy brethren shall praise: thy hand shall be in the neck of thine enemies; thy father's children shall bow down before thee. Judah is a lion's whelp: from the prey, my son, thou art gone up: he stooped down, he couched as a lion, and as an old lion; who shall rouse him up? The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be" (Genesis 49:8-10). "By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name" Paul said (Hebrews 13:15). If you really want to know God, give Him praise. For He said, "Whoso offereth praise glorifieth me: and to him that ordereth his conversation aright will I shew the salvation of God" (Psalms 50:23).
Sing: Every praise is to our God, every word of worship, is to our God, every praise, every praise, is to our God.
