"But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived" (2 Timothy 3:13)
Today's Morsel: I've noticed that in cities where you have a large output of trade, you will find that there is a strong spirit of deception. I believe this comes through people's desire for the love of money. It can go back as far as when people were trappers, traders, and miners. Most of these cities have inland water ways or are located along a river of some sort. And with this evil spirit of deception, comes the other evil spirits that Jesus spoke of when He said, "When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none. Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished. Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation"(Matthew 12:43-45). Notice the last part of the verse that Jesus spoke to. "Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation." What are those other spirits that come with deception that we see today? Lying. Stealing. Fornication. Adultery. Drunkenness. Killing. Sexual perversion. Dishonesty. Sorcery. Confusion. Fear. And there are more. They are coming from near and from far. But God has given us an antidote against this. And that antidote is loving Him with all your heart, mind, soul, and strength.
Sing: Turn your eyes upon Jesus! Look full in His wonderful face. And the things of earth, will go strangely dim, in the light of His glory and grace.
