Morning Manna by Rufus Parker - 2025 October 18

The Right Hand of Power

“But he held his peace, and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked him, and said unto him, Art thou the Christ, the Son of the Blessed? And Jesus said, I am: and ye shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.” (Mark 14:61-62)

Today’s Morsel: Abraham Lincoln states, “If you want to see the character of a man, give him power.” David said, “God hath spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power belongeth unto God.” (Psalms 62:11) Jesus said, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.” (Matthew 28:18) When we understand who Jesus Christ is, then we can understand what scripture means when it says that He is seated on the right hand of power. In the military, the senior person always walks or sits to the right. When John gets a glimpse into heaven, and he writes the book of Revelations, he states that it is a revelation of Jesus Christ. He says, “And immediately I was in the spirit: and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne.” (Revelation 4:2) He does not see the Father in the middle of the throne, Jesus standing at his right hand, nor the Holy Ghost on his left. He sees one sitting on the throne, because God will not share His glory with another. Paul informs us: “And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.” (1 Timothy 3:16)

Sing: There is power in the name of Jesus; there is power in the name of Jesus, to break every chain, break every chain, break every chain.

Thought For Today: “Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me. I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour. I have declared, and have saved, and I have shewed, when there was no strange god among you: therefore ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, that I am God.” (Isaiah 43:10-12)
