God’s Got You
“Who remembered us in our low estate: for his mercy endureth for ever: And hath redeemed us from our enemies: for his mercy endureth for ever. Who giveth food to all flesh: for his mercy endureth for ever. O give thanks unto the God of heaven: for his mercy endureth for ever.” (Psalms 136:23-26)
Today’s Morsel: One of the things I find in the reciprocation of God’s goodness is that if you remember Him, He will remember you. If you reject Him, He will reject you. The Psalmist tells us that because of God’s mercy, which endures forever, that even in our lowest estate, God will remember us. In our times of hardship and oppression, His mercy endures. This whole passage shows you and I how faithful God truly is to us because of His mercy. If you are His sons and daughters, you have nothing to worry about. He can’t run out of His mercy. As He spoke to Isaiah: “For a small moment have I forsaken thee; but with great mercies will I gather thee. In a little wrath I hid my face from thee for a moment; but with everlasting kindness will I have mercy on thee, saith the LORD thy Redeemer. For this is as the waters of Noah unto me: for as I have sworn that the waters of Noah should no more go over the earth; so have I sworn that I would not be wroth with thee, nor rebuke thee. For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the LORD that hath mercy on thee.” (Isaiah 54:7-10) His kindness and peace aren’t going anywhere. God’s got you. So don’t sweat the small stuff.
Sing: Year’s I spent in vanity and pride, caring not my Lord was crucified, knowing not it was for me He died, on calvary.
Mercy there was great, and grace was free; pardon there was multiplied to me; and there my burden soul found liberty at Calvary.
Thought For Today: “Behold, they shall surely gather together, but not by me: whosoever shall gather together against thee shall fall for thy sake.” (Isaiah 54:15)
