Patience
“In your patience possess ye your souls.” (Luke 21:19)
Today’s Morsel: How many times have you heard that patience is a virtue? While virtues are behaviors that shows high moral standards or qualities that contribute to a good character and a wholesome lifestyle, ‘Patience’ is our ability to wait, endure, and remain calm and unruffled in difficult situations and circumstances. Jesus said that patience must be possessed in our lives if we desire to maintain our souls (my wording). Because things aren’t usually done on our timeline, and trials and troubles will come while we are on this Christian journey, we will need patience to help us remain calm and unruffled while we wait for Jesus to work on our behalf and deliver us from what we may be facing and going through. So yes, we may just possess our souls in our patience.
Sing: Walk with me Lord, walk with me. Walk with me Lord, walk with me. While I’m on this, tedious journey, I want Jesus to walk with me. Be my guide Lord, be my guide. Be my guide Lord, be my guide. While I’m on this, tedious journey, I want Jesus to be my guide.
Thought For Today: “But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” (Isaiah 40:31)
