Morning Manna by Rufus Parker - 2017 June 15

“And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows” (Matthew 10:28-31).

Today’s Morsel:  Many times, we may find ourselves worrying about things that we have no control over.  And in some cases, folks worry themselves into sickness or restlessness.  Yet Jesus tells us not to worry but to stay connected to Him because He knows what we are going through.   He tells us not to worry about who can kill our natural bodies, because it’s going to return to the dust anyway.  He tells us that the sparrows are even considered by Him as well as the hairs on our head.  In other words, nothing happens that He’s not aware of.  Solomon said, “The eyes of the LORD are in every place, beholding the evil and the good” (Proverbs 15:3).  So, don’t worry, Jesus has it all under control.

Sing: Why should I feel discouraged, and why should the shadow come?  Why should my heart be lonely, and long for heaven and home?  When Jesus is my portion, a constant friend is He, His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches over me.

Thought For Today: Fear not little flock.
