2012 May 10 - Morning Manna

For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven. (Matthew 5:20)
Today's Morsel: There are certain things that are absolutely spiritually necessary for your life if you are going to make it to heaven. And one of those things is righteousness. Jesus said that if our righteousness doesn't exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, we shall in no case enter the kingdom of heaven. God calls for us to do right at all cost. Therefore, we must not compromise or integrity in any area. We must live truth and stand for truth even if it cost us our careers, friendships, or jobs. Our world seems to have lost the value of integrity and it is spilling into the church. People say one thing and do another. It seems as though integrity has no personal value anymore. But Job said, "God forbid that I should justify you: till I die I will not remove mine integrity from me"(Job 27:5).
Because our Heavenly Father is a God of righteousness, we too must reflect His righteousness in our lives. If we do not admit our problems and sins, there can be no cure for us. But when we humble ourselves before God and openly confess our sins and faults, He brings about righteousness within us. The only way you will ever be able to do right is to first realize that you are wrong. Always remember, character counts.
Sing: A little talk with Jesus makes it right, all right. A little talk with Jesus makes it right, all right; A little talk with Jesus makes it right, all right, trials of every kind, praise God I always find, a little talk with Jesus makes it right all right.
