Is There Anything That Is New?
“The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun. Is there any thing whereof it may be said, See, this is new? it hath been already of old time, which was before us.” (Ecclesiastes 1:9-10)
Today’s Morsel: The car advertisement says, “Come by and see our new models for 2023, you will be surprised.” The phone company says, “Check out our new 5G phones. Buy one and get a second one for free.” But are they new? Solomon states that there is nothing new under the sun. That which is, he said, has already been. You see, when God created the heavens and the earth, everything was created that we use, drive, or live in. Man mines and he finds ore, gold, silver, and coal, those items used for producing and making other items, but they were already created before during the creation. The timber from trees is used to make paper, building materials, ball bats, rubber, medicine, chairs, and homes. The things which are, are the things which have already been. The things which God has already created cannot be made again. But man, on the other hand, was not created but rather formed from the dust of the earth. Therefore, because he was formed and not created, he can be made new. “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” (2 Corinthians 5:17). Have you been born-again?
Sing: Born-again, there has been a change in me. Born-again just like Jesus said. Born-again and all because of Calvary. I’m so glad that I’ve been born again.
That's deep stuff right there!
