“And so he that had received five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents: behold, I have gained beside them five talents more. His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord. He also that had received two talents came and said, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me two talents: behold, I have gained two other talents beside them. His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord” (Matthew 25:20-23).
Today’s Morsel: When you were in school, how many times did your teacher write on a paper that you turned in the word ‘Outstanding’ across the top? One of the things about this word is it’s not used enough in the Christian realm or church. Outstanding means that something is done exceptionally good. The servants with the five and two talents were told that they had done well. They had gone above what was expected. They had done outstanding. As Christians, we should hear this word often. We are told, “Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin” (James 4:17). When you follow His word and are obedient, you are OUTSTANDING!
Sing: Lord lift me up, and let me stand, by faith on heaven's table land. A higher plane then I have found, Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.
Thought For Today: Good, better, best. Never let it rest. Until your better is your best; good - better - best.
