Morning Manna by Rufus Parker - 2017 March 27

“Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God” (Matthew 5:9).

Today’s Morsel:  Each year, hundreds of people are nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize.  According to Nobel's will, the Peace Prize is to be awarded to the person who in the preceding year "shall have done the most or the best work for fraternity between nations, for the abolition or reduction of standing armies and for the holding and promotion of peace congresses".  I think that at the end of each year every Christian should win the Peace Prize.  Isn’t that what the gospel is called, “The Gospel of Peace?”  The Apostle Paul wrote to the church at Rome, “… as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!” (Romans 10:15). Every time you teach someone a Bible study you are bring about peace.  The word is called the gospel of peace.  Therefore, if we say that we are Christians, then we must strive to win this prize every day.

Sing:  Peace! Peace!  Wonderful peace, coming down from the Father above.  Sweep over my spirit forever I pray, in fathomless billows of love.

Thought For Today:  Every Christian should be a peace prize winner! (Parker)
