Morning Manna by Rufus Parker - 2017 March 22

“How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them! If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee” (Psalms 139:17-18).

Today’s Morsel:  One of the things that many do not understand is God’s love and thoughts towards them. There are so many people struggling in life because they will not accept what they Bible says about God’s love and concern for them.  The Psalmist said that the Lord's thoughts were precious toward him and he couldn’t number them.  Moses informed the children of Israel,“For thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God: the LORD thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto himself, above all people that are upon the face of the earth. The LORD did not set his love upon you, nor choose you, because ye were more in number than any people; for ye were the fewest of all people: But because the LORD loved you, and because he would keep the oath which he had sworn unto your fathers, hath the LORD brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you out of the house of bondmen, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt. Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations; And repayeth them that hate him to their face, to destroy them: he will not be slack to him that hateth him, he will repay him to his face” (Deuteronomy 7:6-10). Because God is faithful, His promises are for us today as well.  We are chosen to reflect His light and love to a lost and dying world all because He cares for us.

Sing: I am so glad that our Father in heaven tells of His love in the Book He has given; wonderful things in the Bible I see; this is the dearest, that Jesus loves me.  I am so glad that Jesus loves me, Jesus loves me, Jesus loves me, I am so glad that Jesus loves me, Jesus loves even me.

Thought For Today:  Jesus loves me.

  1. For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
