Could You Use A little Wisdom?
“Who hath put wisdom in the inward parts? or who hath given understanding to the heart?” (Job 38:36)
Today’s Morsel: One of the things that David stated about God was: “Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom.” (Psalms 51:6) The Lord asked Job, Who has put wisdom in the inward parts? Or who has given understanding to the heart? The verse highlights that true wisdom and understanding comes only from God. Not from human intellect or experience. We can’t simply acquire wisdom on our own. We need the help of God. For as Jesus said, without me you can do nothing. True wisdom and understanding proceeds from God. Solomon says: “When wisdom entereth into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul; Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee:” (Proverbs 2:10-11) When we embrace the wisdom and knowledge of God and His Word, we will be better equipped to make sound and wise decisions and hopefully avoid evil and negative consequence, as discretion and understanding will act as our safeguards.
Sing: Deeper, deeper, in the love of Jesus, daily let me go; higher, higher, in the school of wisdom, more of grace to know.
O’ deeper yet, I pray, and higher every day, and wiser blessed Lord, in Thy precious holy word.
Thought For Today: “And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.” (Job 28:28)
