Do Not Allow Your Emotions and Feelings to Fool You
“He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool: but whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered.” Proverbs 28:26
Today’s Morsel: One of the essentials of understanding life is to know your emotions and feelings. If they are not controlled, they can cause you to make wrong choices and decisions. Your feelings and emotions are attached to your fleshly wants and desires. And we know that the flesh is never satisfied. It is always wanting more. We must keep it under control. We cannot lean unto our own understanding. As Jeremiah states: “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?” Jeremiah 17:9 Your thoughts are subject to deception and lies. This is why before you make choices and decisions you need to filter them through the Word of God, as choices and decisions have consequences. And some of those consequences can have lasting effects on your health and life. How many times in your life, after you have done something, do you say to yourself, “Why did I do that?” It is because you allowed your emotions and feelings to deceive you. The mind is deceitful. It can lead you astray with false promises and desires. Therefore, you should not trust it. You must put your trust in God who alone is able to understand your heart and who alone can give you directions and guidance for the things you face and desire.
Sing: I trust in God, wherever I may be, upon the land, or on the raging sea. For comes what may, from day to day, my Heavenly Father, watches over, over me. And I trust in God, I know He cares for me, upon the land or out on the raging sea. For comes what may, from day to day, my Heavenly Father watches over, over, me.
