2015 September 7 - Morning Manna

Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die. (Ezekiel 18:4)

Today's Morsel:  The media has been pushing the new movement of "Black Lives Matter."  But don't all lives matter?   I think so and so does God.  The Lord said through the Prophet Ezekiel, "Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine..." ( Ezekiel 18:4).  If lives matter to God, then shouldn't those same lives matter to the parents that gave birth to them?  And should they not train those lives in the ways of the Lord so that they can live?   If the home, churches, schools, and communities do not set a moral compass for children to follow, no program without a godly basis is going to stop the loss of life.  The only antidote to stop the loss of life and this crazy downward spiral is the Word of God.   Paul said in Ephesians 6:1-9, "Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right. Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;) That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth. And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. Servants, be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto Christ; Not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart; With good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men: Knowing that whatsoever good thing any man doeth, the same shall he receive of the Lord, whether he be bond or free. And, ye masters, do the same things unto them, forbearing threatening: knowing that your Master also is in heaven; neither is there respect of persons with him".   Jesus said, "Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets" (Matthew 7:12). The "Golden Rule" still works, as well as all the instructions from the Bible.  We need to value all lives, and build our lives on the word of God.

Sing:  All to Jesus I surrender, all to Him I freely give; I will ever love and trust Him, in His service daily live.
I surrender all, I surrender all, all to Thee my blessed Savior, I surrender all.

Thought for Today: The Golden Rule still works.
