2015 September 22 - Morning Manna

This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. (2 Timothy 3:1-7)

Today's Morsel:  As a father and pastor,  I have become very concerned for our women and young ladies today.  I don't understand why some of them feel that they have to have equality, that they have to act like men, look like men, or present themselves in such a risqué way to rise in status in life.  Paul said that in the last days, men would creep into houses and lead captive silly women laden with sins, that they would be led away with divers lusts.  But Solomon's mother told him of a virtuous woman,  "strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.  She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness. She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness. Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her... Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised " (Proverbs 31:25-28;30).  My prayer is that our Christian women will hold fast to the teachings of the Word and not be led astray through the lusts this world is presenting to them.  That they will not be silly woman laden with sin, but rather the virtuous women Solomon's mother spoke of; women whose price is far above rubies.

Sing: Something beauty, something good, all my confusion, Jesus understood, all I had to offer Him was brokenness and strife, but He made something, beautiful out of my life.

Thought for Today: "Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised" ( King Solomon).
