2015 July 15 - Morning Manna

I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God doeth it, that men should fear before him. That which hath been is now; and that which is to be hath already been; and God requireth that which is past.
(Ecclesiastes 3:14-15)

Today's Morsel: We humans seem to find ways to make people think that the new gadgets and productivity of things are all new.  But scripture lets us know, "The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun" (Ecclesiastes 1:9).  Solomon said that which hath been is now; and that which is to be hath already been.  I guess this is why I don't get too excited about new gadgets when they hit the market, because they are soon recycled into something else.  If we want something that is consistent and always new, then we should turn to Jesus. Jeremiah said of His compassion, they are new every morning, great is Thy faithfulness (Lamentation 3:24).  Isn't it refreshing to know that God changes not?  "Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever" Paul said, (Hebrews 13:8).  He's the only thing that stays the same.  Everything else changes.

Sing:  To God be the glory,  To God be the glory,  To God be the glory, for the things He has done. With His blood He has saved me, with His Power He has raised me. To God be the glory, for the things He has done.

Thought for Today: Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.  (Hebrews 13:8)
