2015 July 11 - Morning Manna

Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up. Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh. (Matthew 24:42-44)

Today's Morsel: We all seem to understand the importance of being ready. We pack our suitcases early and ensure that we are at the airport at least two hours in advance so that we do not miss our flight.  Most parents ensure that their children are ready for school so that they do not miss the bus.  Many know what time the bus, train, streetcar, and those they carpool with will come and they are ready when their ride arrives.  Most everyone prepares and is ready for the things that are important to them, yet so few seem to be getting ready for the coming of the Lord.  Jesus said that we are to watch: for we know not what hour our Lord will come. No man knows when He will come. Therefore the call is for us always to be ready. Are you ready should He come today?

Sing: Oh my brother are you ready for the call, to crown your Savior King and Lord of all? The kingdoms of this world, shall soon before Him fall, we shall see the King when He comes.

Thought for Today: "I think the necessity of being ready increases. Look to it." (Abraham Lincoln)
