2011 September 24 - Morning Manna

Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise. For the Father loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things that himself doeth: and he will shew him greater works than these, that ye may marvel. For as the Father raiseth up the dead, and quickeneth them; even so the Son quickeneth whom he will. (John 5:19-21).

Today's Morsel: I'm sure many of you have had those moments where you were suppose to do something and you had forgotten, and then you are quickened by a thought and you immediately spring to your feet to get it done.  Especially if it was a task your boss had given you and the deadline is upon you.   Paul said, "And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God" (Ephesians 2:1-8).  Notice, he said that God quickenth us because we were dead in our trespasses and sins because of Adams transgression.  But God quickeneth us to himself.  He revitalized us and gave us newness of life.  Paul also tells us that the last man Adam, Jesus Christ, was made a quickening Spirit.  Jesus said that the Holy Ghost would be with us and lead us would give us eternal life.  Has Jesus quickened you? Are you walking in newness of life?

Sing: I was sinking deep in sin, far from the peaceful shore, very deeply stained within, sinking to rise no more. But the Master of the sea, heard my despairing cry, from the waters lifted me, now safe am I.
Chorus: Love lifted me, love lifted me, when nothing else could help, love lifted me; Love lifted me, love lifted me, when nothing else could help, love lifted me.
