2010 April 30 - Morning Manna

A good man leaveth an inheritance to his children's children: and the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just (Proverbs 13:22).

Today’s Morsel: The U.S. Marine Corps says that they are looking for “A few good men.” Where have all the good men gone? What happened to the man that would tip his hat to a lady? What happened to the man that would stand to greet a lady? Or the man that would hold the door open for her? What happened to the man that would reach out and help his neighbor with a project around his house? What happened to the man who would be an usher, deacon, elder, and laborer in the Lord’s house? What happened to the man whose word was his bond? Even though there may be women’s liberation, men must still be men. The woman, Peter said, is still to be honored and respected, because she is the weaker vessel. The weakness of the female sex is not just the reason she should be defended, honored, and respected; but because she is a creation of the Lord Jesus Christ and because she was taken from man. Solomon said, “A good man leaveth an inheritance to his children’s children.” In other words, he saves something to pass to his grandchildren. Dad, what inheritance are you leaving for your children's children? What will your children and grand children say about you when you are gone? Who are you leaving your Bible to? Who gets your preaching and teaching notes? Remember, as the apostle John said, “I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth” (3 John 1:4). It will be the truth of Jesus that they will respect you for in the years to come in their lives. David said, “One generation shall praise thy works to another, and shall declare thy mighty acts” (Psalms 145:4), and that will come through a godly inheritance!

Sing: Jesus loves me this I know, for the Bible tells me so, little to one to Him belong, they are weak, but He is strong.

Yes, Jesus loves me! Yes, Jesus loves me! Yes, Jesus loves me! For the Bible tells me so.
