Labor Ready
“For the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that
is an householder, which went out early in the morning to hire labourers
into his vineyard. And when he had agreed with the labourers for a penny a day,
he sent them into his vineyard. And he went out about the third hour, and saw
others standing idle in the marketplace, And said unto them; Go ye also into
the vineyard, and whatsoever is right I will give you. And they went their way.
Again he went out about the sixth and ninth hour, and did likewise. And about
the eleventh hour he went out, and found others standing idle, and saith unto
them, Why stand ye here all the day idle? They say unto him, Because no man
hath hired us. He saith unto them, Go ye also into the vineyard; and whatsoever
is right, that shall ye receive.” (Matthew 20:1-7)
Today’s Morsel: I
knew a man once who had just gotten out of prison and he told me that he needed
to find a job so that he could provide for himself. He said that each
morning he got up around 4 a.m, and headed to Labor Ready so that if anyone
came by looking for someone to work, that he would be there. He was labor
ready. When Adam and Eve sinned in the garden, man was then born for labor; it was a part of the curse inflicted
on him for sin. Now he must work for his food and raiment or he doesn’t
eat. Are you labor ready? The gospel needs to be preached to the
whole world by the whole church. Jesus is still hiring and looking for
laborers.
Sing: When
He calls me, I will answer, when He calls me, I will hear. When He calls
me, I will answer, I’ll be somewhere working for my Lord.
I’ll be somewhere
working, I’ll be somewhere working, I’ll be somewhere working for my Lord; I’ll
be somewhere working, I’ll be somewhere working, I’ll be somewhere working for
my Lord.
Thought For Today: Are
you Labor Ready?
