Morning Manna by Rufus Parker - 2018 December 26

“And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger. And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child. And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds. But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart. And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them” (Luke 2:16-20)

Today’s Morsel:  When the shepherds were told of Jesus’ birth, they made haste to see Him.  And once they had seen Him, they departed rejoicing that it was as they were told.  They also shared with Mary the things that they had been told them about Jesus, and Mary hid the sayings in her heart.  What do you do with what the pastor tells you about Jesus?  Do you accept it or reject it?  Do you hide it in your heart to keep forever?  Remember, they shepherds.

Sing: Joy to the world! The Savior reigns; let men their songs employ; while fields and floods, rocks, hills, and plains repeat the sounding joy, repeat the sounding joy, repeat, repeat the sounding joy.

Thought For Today: Behold I give you pastors after my own heart.
