Morning Manna by Rufus Parker - 2018 December 17

“Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength” (Isaiah 26:3-4).

Today’s Morsel:  One of the things that Isaiah said that Jesus would be called was the Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6).  You see, He had no violence nor guile in His lips, as these attributes usher peace within oneself. A mind that is stayed upon Christ, that is the mind that has confidence in Him, shall not be agitated by the trials to which it may be subject, not by persecution, poverty, sickness, want, or bereavement.  It will have the serenity to smile and show forth strength in these things.  Since we know that He is our peace, should we not have plenty of it?  Jesus gives us peace that passes all understanding, what a precious gift to receive.

Sing: Peace! Peace! Wonderful peace, coming down from the Father above.  Sweep over my spirit forever I pray, in fathomless billows of love.

Thought For Today: Keep your mind on Him and you will always be at peace.
