Morning Manna by Rufus Parker - 2015 January 27

And it shall be, when the LORD thy God shall have brought thee into the land which he sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give thee great and goodly cities, which thou buildedst not, And houses full of all good things, which thou filledst not, and wells digged, which thou diggedst not, vineyards and olive trees, which thou plantedst not; when thou shalt have eaten and be full; Then beware lest thou forget the LORD, which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage. (Deuteronomy 6:10-12)

Today's Morsel:  Have you ever told someone that you would do something for them, and you then honestly forgot to do it?   How did you feel when you saw the person and they brought it to your remembrance?  Moses told the children of Israel that when they came into the land of promise and they had great and goodly cities, which they did not build , and houses full of all good things, which they did not fill, and wells digged, which they did not dig, vineyards and olive trees, which they did not plant; when they had eaten and were full; that then they should beware lest they forget the LORD.  His warning to them was because most people lose sight of God when things are going well for them.  When most people have the basic essentials of life met, they often times lose focus of what God has done for them.  And Moses wanted the children of Israel to know that just as quickly as God had given it all to them, He could take it away if they forgot Him.  Well, they didn't heed his warning, and they forgot God and they suffered because of it.  Have you forgotten where God brought you from and what He has done for you in your life?  One of the quickest ways you can determine if you have lost sight of what God has done for you is your tithe record.  Take time to remember and give thanks to The Lord for all He has done.  Beware, lest you forget God.

Sing: Jesus I'll never forget what You've done for me. Jesus, I'll never forget how You've set me free.  Jesus I'll never forget how You brought me out.  Jesus I'll never forget no never!

Thought For Today:  God must never take the backseat to anything.  He must always be kept in first place.
