2015 March 19 - Morning Manna

A good man leaveth an inheritance to his children's children: and the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just. (Proverbs 13:22)

Today's Morsel: As my wife and I read this passage during our morning devotion time, when I finished, I said to her, what can I leave our GRANDs that they will remember us by?  Without skipping a beat she said, the Word of God.  That indeed would be a good inheritance. Most people think of monetary inheritance to leave as an inheritance.  But really what they need is something that they will never depart or fade away.  You see if you leave them money, and don't get me wrong there is nothing wrong with that, yet once it is spent they will no longer have an inheritance.  But if they have your old Bible that has the notes in the margin, highlighter markings of scriptures, or a notebook of notes that you took during Bible studies; if you leave them a legacy of your life built on the Word of God, those things will be priceless and probably stay with them for ever.  Have you decided what you will leave your children's children?

Sing: Take the name of Jesus with you, child of sorrow and of woe; it will joy and comfort give you, take it then where ever you go.
Precious name, O how sweet! Hope of earth and joy of heaven; precious name, O how sweet! Hope of earth and joy of heaven.

Thought for Today:  Leave your kids and grand-kids something that money can't buy.
