2014 December 13 - Morning Manna

By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God. But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him (Hebrews 11:5-6).

Today’s Morsel: Everything that a Christian does is driven by his or her faith. Many people have tried to define faith. Some use Hebrew 11:1, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Some say, “Faith is what you need to please God”; others say, “It is what you need to be saved and to receive the Holy Ghost”; and some say, “It’s your ability to see God in your dark times”; while others say, “It’s just plain old trust.” But do these sayings really define faith? The entire eleventh chapter of the Book of Hebrews is called the “faith chapter” because it reveals what others did and what they received because of their faith. The Bible says in Hebrews 11:5, “By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.” Notice, Enoch didn’t see death because of his faith. Did you know that you, too, will not see death if you walk and live by your faith? You may die in this flesh, but you will always be alive in the spirit. Even Jesus died in the flesh, but He was quickened by the Spirit. And this same Spirit will quicken your mortal bodies.  Paul said that if he was absent from the body, he was present with Christ (my paraphrase). Paul knew that as soon as he died in the flesh, he would be with the Lord. He knew that he would be translated right out of here. You see, it takes faith in God to come out of the world, and it’s going to take faith for you to get out of this world.

Sing: Have faith in God, have faith in God, Have faith in God, for deliverance, have faith in God.

Thought for Today: It takes faith in God to be made free.
