Thanksgiving
“Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving: For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.” (1 Timothy 4:1-5)
Today’s Morsel: Today, around the globe, but especially here in America, we celebrate Thanksgiving. A tradition which has continued for many years here in America, and around the world for our military members and their families. The pilgrims wanted to express their thanks for what God had done for them, by inviting the Indians to join them. Throughout scripture, we are called to never forget what God has done for us. Thanksgiving is not only a great reminder to be thankful for God’s provisions, but more importantly, it is a time to share our thanksgiving with others for what God has done for us, which also brings honor to God for His provision. Today, tables will be filled with much sustenance and excitement. But in all the excitement and dining, please don’t forget to give God thanks for His bountiful blessings toward you.
Sing: Thanks, Thanks, I give You thanks, for all You have done; I am so blessed, my soul have found rest, oh Lord, I give You thanks.
Thought For Today: “I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify him with thanksgiving.” (Psalms 69:30)
Happy Thanksgiving!
