Power
“And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.” (Matthew 28:18)
Today’s Morsel: What would you do if you had all power in the earth? What would you do with it? Would you be able to control it, or would it control you? Abraham Lincoln stated: “If you want to see the character of a man, give him power.” Power will reveal who you truly are. When given power, you must learn to manage it according to the rules and principles of the one who gave it to you. Jesus stated: “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” (Acts 1:8) Once we received the Holy Ghost, we were given power. Therefore, we must learn how to use it in accordance with the instructions of the One who has given it to us. We must read and study our Bibles so that we know how to use it effectively. If we mishandle it, it can misrepresent the Giver and it can cause grave damage to not only to ourselves, but also to others.
