Morning Manna by Rufus Parker - 2018 February 26

“Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD: And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes. And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates” (Deuteronomy 6:4-9).

Today’s Morel:  One of the grave dangers that our children face in the world today is that of wanting to fit in. It has been reported that some kids get into gangs and prostitution rings because they want to fit it.  They want to be liked and accepted by other people.  They want the cell phones, I-devices, tattoos, body piercings, sagging pants, designer clothing, the fake nails, fake hair, and fake jewelry because they want to fit in.  However, the danger with fitting in is that most kids usually don’t fit in.  Satan always has a trap.  Children who are born again or have been raised in the church must succumb and be willing to accept great danger to fit into the world.  Most them have no knowledge of street language and aren’t street smart.  Moses told the children of Israel that they were to teach their children the ways of God always.  Your children don’t need to fit in with the world.  They need to be more concerned with fitting in and agreeing with Christ.  Your kids need to know the ways of the world, but they shouldn’t learn it from the world. They must learn it from you, their parents.  We should never try to fit in with the world.  We just need to be the missing piece of the puzzle in the church.

Sing: Jesus hold my hand; Lord, I need Thee every hour.  Through this pilgrim land, protect me by Thy saving power. Hear, my feeble plea, O’ Lord, look down on me.  When I kneel in prayer I know I'll meet You there, blessed Jesus hold my hand.

Thought For Today:  “Never try to fit in with the world. Just be the missing piece of the puzzle in the church." (Parker).
