Morning Manna by Rufus Parker - 2018 February 13

“And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life”
(John 3:14-16).

Today’s Morsel:  One of the biggest fallacies in many Christian’s life is that most them do not believe.  They think that that they can violate God’s Word and there be no consequences.  Israel could not enter the promised land because of unbelief, and Paul tells us to not allow that same evil spirit of unbelief to get into our hearts.  “Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God” (Hebrews 3:12).  Notice, he calls it an evil heart of unbelief.  If your mind is evil, your whole body is evil.  John said that for us to obtain eternal life, we must believe in Jesus Christ.  If you do not believe in Him, there is no righteousness.  “Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness” (Romans 4:3). Therefore, if we desire eternal life, we must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.

Sing:  I believe God, I believe God, that He will do, just as He said.  Trust and obey, believe Him and say, "I believe, I believe God."

Thought For Today:  Belief equals righteousness.
