Morning Manna by Rufus Parker - 2018 February 21

“Paul, a prisoner of Jesus Christ, and Timothy our brother, unto Philemon our dearly beloved, and fellowlabourer, And to our beloved Apphia, and Archippus our fellowsoldier, and to the church in thy house: Grace to you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. I thank my God, making mention of thee always in my prayers, Hearing of thy love and faith, which thou hast toward the Lord Jesus, and toward all saints; That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus” (Philemon 1:1-6).

Today’s Morsel:  One of the things about our faith is it must communicate our trust and the belief that we have in God.  When others fear, we must stand strong.  When others are lonely and despondent, we must be joyful and hopeful.  When others display a lack of self-confidence, we must show forth our confidence in God’s ability.   Paul told Philemon, “I thank my God, making mention of thee always in my prayers, Hearing of thy love and faith, which thou hast toward the Lord Jesus, and toward all saints; That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus.”  Paul wanted Philemon to know that by actions to free and accept Onesimus back as a brother and fellow labor he would show his faith.  You see actions speak louder than words.  How do you communicate your faith?  Remember, communication is a two-way street, and so is faith.

Sing:  Faith can move mountains, mountains of fear and of doubt; faith can move mountains, so why don’t you try your faith out.

Thought For Today:  How do you communicate your faith?
