Morning Manna by Rufus Parker - 2017 September 26

“And I bought the field of Hanameel my uncle's son, that was in Anathoth, and weighed him the money, even seventeen shekels of silver. And I subscribed the evidence, and sealed it, and took witnesses, and weighed him the money in the balances. So I took the evidence of the purchase, both that which was sealed according to the law and custom, and that which was open: And I gave the evidence of the purchase unto Baruch the son of Neriah, the son of Maaseiah, in the sight of Hanameel mine uncle's son, and in the presence of the witnesses that subscribed the book of the purchase, before all the Jews that sat in the court of the prison” (Jeremiah 32:9-12)

Today’s Morsel: If you ever notice, when you have someone do work for you, they will sign the form of the work that they performed by putting their personal signature on the job that they did.  That way, you will know who did it, as well as the company who sent them to do it. The book of Revelation tells us that Jesus’ name shall be in our forehead (Revelations 22:4).  Therefore, when people see us, they should be able also to see who did the work on us as His work is perfect.  Jeremiah said that he bought the property, he signed the book of the purchase. John said,  “And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire” (Revelation 20:12-15).  When Jesus purchases you, He signs your name in the book as proof of purchase and the work is done.  If He can’t find your name there, then He didn’t do the work!

Sing: He’s still working on me, to make what I ought to be.  It took Him just a week to make the sun and the stars, the moon and the earth and Jupiter and Mars, but He’s still working on me.

Thought For Today: “Jesus puts His personal signature on the job” (Parker).
